Common questions
Is Melodius free?
Yes. Melodius is free to use with no advertising and no paid tier. There is no premium subscription, so no feature is held back for an upgrade — playlists, Jams, Blend, listening statistics and Sound Capsule are all on the free account.
Do I need to install anything to use Melodius?
No. Melodius runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone, and there is a free Android app on Google Play. Both use the same account, so your library and stats follow you. A Windows app is planned; until then the web app covers Windows fully.
Is there a Melodius app for iPhone?
Not as a native app. On iPhone and iPad, Melodius runs in Safari through the web app, with the same account and library as on Android and desktop.
Can I listen to music with friends at the same time?
Yes. A Jam is a synchronised listening room: everyone hears the same moment of the same track from a shared queue. The host controls whether guests can add to the queue and whether they can control playback, and skips can be put to a vote of the room.
Can I bring my Spotify playlists to Melodius?
Yes. Melodius connects to Spotify with read-only playlist access, then matches each track against its own catalogue and rebuilds the playlist natively. Liked songs and listening history are not included, since playlist access does not cover them.
What listening statistics does Melodius show?
Listening time, play counts, distinct artists and tracks, top artists and top tracks, a listening heatmap, time-of-day and weekday patterns, session counts and lengths, discovery and repeat rates, rising and declining artists, and a Music DNA profile — for any period from the last 7 days to all time.
Does Melodius work offline?
No. There is no offline mode or downloaded library. Individual tracks can be saved as files, but listening requires a connection.
